Uzbekistan notified all sides about its pullout from Central Asian power grid
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan notified all interested side about its pullout from Central Asian power grid from 1 December 2009 in established order and in advance (in September-October), Jahon news agency of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.

The agency said after collapse of the Soviet Union, so called united power system of Central Asian region lost its controllability and operated on “word of honour”. It added that the system did not have any mandatory functional legal authorities.

The agency said the dispatcher service of the Central Asian power grid has no power and their orders were treated as “for information only” by some countries, who violated power supply rules and illegally extracted energy from common network, which, in its turn, led to catastrophic consequences.

Jahon said Turkmenistan quitted the Central Asia power grid in 2003 and Kazakhstan announced twice about pullout (for 2-3 months) from the grid in 2009.

The agency said further stay of Uzbekistan in the Central Asian power grid could result in serious destabilization of power system of the country.

Jahon called foreign mass media not to distort prehistory and reasons of Uzbekistan’s pullout from the Central Asian power grid.
