Uzbekistan mines 2.659m tonnes of coal in Jan-Sep

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan increased the volume of coal mining in nine months of 2011, according to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

The company said that Uzbekistan increased mining of coal by 1.8% year-on-year in nine months of 2011 to 2.659 million tonnes.

Uzbekugol open joint-stock company produces 98% of coal in Uzbekistan. The company extracts coal at Angren brown coal mine in Tashkent region with reserves of 1.9 billion tonnes.
