Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan proposes to increase the maximum size of microloans from 50 million soums to 100 million soums.

The Central Bank of Uzbekistan has published draft amendments to the law “On non-bank credit organizations and microfinance activities.”

The document proposes to increase the maximum loan amount issued by microfinance institutions.

According to the regulator, this will allow the economically active population to raise funds to start working as self-employed or individual entrepreneurs.

The draft law proposes to increase the maximum size of microloans at the level of 100 million soums. Now this limit is 50 million soums.
