Uzbekistan may allow private enterprises to produce sulfuric acid based on licenses

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the next plenary meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the draft law “On amendments to Article 19 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances” in connection with improving the production process of precursors” is considered in the first reading.

Today, our country produces import-substituting chemical products such as potassium sulfate, colloxylin, ammophos, and monoammonium phosphate.

Sulfuric acid is the main raw material for the production of such chemicals.

However, since sulfuric acid is included in the list of precursors whose circulation in our country is limited, its production and preparation can only be carried out by state enterprises and institutions. And this creates problems in meeting the need for this product.

In this regard, this bill, in order to deeply process raw materials and develop local industry, envisages the production and manufacture of precursors, the circulation of which is limited to private enterprises on the basis of licenses.

The adoption of the bill will serve to satisfy the demand for sulfuric acid in the republic through the organization of new modern capacities for the production of sulfuric acid in the chemical industry.

The bill was adopted by deputies.
