Uzbekistan marks Id al-Fitr
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Muslims of Uzbekistan celebrates Id al-Fitr holiday on Monday, 21 September, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Eid Al-Fitr (Ramadan Hayit), or the Celebration of Breaking the Fast, marks the end of Ramadan. Ramadan is the month of fasting.

Chairman of Uzbekistan’s Muslim Board Usmonhon Alimov congratulated the country’s Muslims on Eid al-Fitr and the end of Ramadan.

“Dear fellow citizens, let me congratulate you with Ramadan Hayit. Let us to thank Allah that we all reached these days and let be in love to each other,” he said.

He said that Muslims should mark the end of Ramadan in a good mood and they should not gather into groups to extend their condolences to the families and close ones of those who passed away recently. “We should not turn this holiday into mourning,” he underlined.

Usmonhon Alimov noted that people should visit their parents, relatives and friends, as will as ill people and needy families and assist them if required. “It is day to share joy with everyone”, he added.
