Uzbektourism said that the meeting was directed at further developing and strengthening bilateral relations in tourism sector.
At the meeting, it was said that Uzbekistan is interested in attracting Malaysian investments into construction of hotel complexes, catering and recreation zones at main tourism routes, including in Samarkand, Bukhara, Khorezm, Tashkent and Surkhandarya region.
The Uzbek side also invited Minister and representative of Ministry of tourism and culture of Malaysia, as well as tourism agency to Tashkent International Tourism Fair, which will be held in October 2015.
Dato’ Seri Mohamed Nazri bin Abdul Aziz, in his turn, expressed gratitude to the reception and expressed interest of Malaysian citizens to visit Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and Islam monuments.
He said that regular flights of Uzbekistan Havo Yollari from Tashkent to Kuala Lumpur is making travel between two states much easier.
The Malaysian side expressed interest in establishing partnership via informing Malaysian investors on tourism potential. The Malaysian delegation expressed opinion on cooperation in sphere of exchange of specialists in tourism sector.
Malaysian minister said that he is ready to consider signing of international agreement between Uzbektourism and Minister of culture and tourism of Malaysia based on inter-governmental memorandum of understanding, signed in 2005.
