Uzbekistan loses to Thailand, defeats Jordan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Thailand recorded a facile 5-1 victory over Uzbekistan in the second round of the 2012 London Olympics Asian women’s qualifiers on Friday.
Two goals each from Nisa Romyen and Pitsamai Sornsai helped Thailand crush Uzbekistan 5-1.
Uzbekistan took the lead through Makhliyo Sarikova in the fifth minute but Pitsamai restored the parity nine minutes later.
Kanjana Sung-Ngoen put the Thais 2-1 ahead in the 26th minute and Nisa scored her first four minutes after the half hour mark. Pitsamai completed her brace at the stroke of half time while Nisa found her second in the 71st minute.
In the second match, Uzbekistan defeated Jordan with the score 3-0. Feruza Turdibaeva (76 minute) and Makhliyo Sarikova (78, 81) were on target for Uzbekistan.
The Group also includes teams from Vietnam and Iran.
