The sides exchanged opinion on current state and perspectives of developing bilateral relations in political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as on international and relations issues.
The sides vowed to expand inter-parliamentary contacts, hold sessions of the Uzbek-Lithuanian cooperation institutes, assist in establishment of direct contacts among state and public organizations, as well as business structures of two states, including among small and private businesses.
The delegation of Lithuania led by Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Evaldas Ignatavičius were informed about favourable opportunities, created for implementation of joint projects in Navoi free industrial and economic zone and Angren special industrial zone, where significant tax and customs preferences were given to investors.
At the meeting, the sides also considered practical issues of strengthening between Uzbekistan and European Union during the precedency of Lithuania in the EU in the second half of 2013.
During the visit to Lithuania, the delegation of Uzbekistan met with the Chancellor of the Ministry of Economy Gediminas Miškinis and director-general of Lithuanian Business Confederation Algimantas Akstinas.
The sides considered perspective directions of development of interaction in trade-economic and investment sectors.
