Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Turkestan Region in Kazakhstan attracted over 500,000 international tourists in 2024, marking a 45% increase compared to the previous year, Dunyo news agency reported citing the International News Agency Kazinform
As of the third quarter of 2024:
235,000 tourists stayed in hotels and hostels,
136,400 visited wellness and health facilities,
128,600 enjoyed natural attractions.
Uzbekistan ranked first among countries with the highest number of tourists visiting Turkestan Region, with 10,852 visitors. Russia followed with 1,411 tourists, then China (983), Türkiye (744), and Kyrgyzstan (435).
The region aims to increase total tourist numbers to 550,000 and achieve 1 million single-day visits by the end of the year.
