Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A new cement plant has been opened in Surkhandarya region of Uzbekistan.

The Sherabad Cement Plant was built by the joint stock company Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine.

The cost of the project is US$212.8 million. The plant’s capacity is 1.5 million tons of products per year. The bulk of the products will be directed to meet domestic demand.

AGMK attracted the Turkish company DAL Teknik Makina for construction of the cement plant. The enterprise is equipped with modern foreign-made equipment.
