Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During the 81st meeting of the CIS Council for Railway Transport, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Railways (Uzbekiston Temir Yullari), Z. Narzullaev, and the Chairman of the Board of Kazakhstan Railways (Kazakhstan Temir Zholy), Nurlan Sauranbayev.
The Kazakh side commended Uzbekistan’s ongoing railway sector reforms, acknowledging their effectiveness.
The meeting also featured an exchange of views on digitalization and transformation processes in both countries, with discussions focusing on joint efforts to introduce digital technologies and improve railway sector efficiency.
The parties agreed on implementing competitive tariffs to attract additional cargo flows. They also discussed increasing transit cargo volumes and developing international transport corridors.
