Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Over the period from July 2018 to date, about 60,000 applications for receiving electronic entry visas to Uzbekistan were received from foreign citizens, of which almost all requests received positive results (58,761 applications were issued electronic visas).
The system of issuing electronic entry visas “E-visa” was introduced in Uzbekistan from 15 July 2018 for citizens of 96 countries (before 1 February 2019 there were 50 countries).
The largest number of requests for electronic entry visas came from citizens of China (22,785), India (12,372) and the United States (8,682).
From 15 July 2018 to 15 July 2019, the Call Center of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development received 6,806 calls for obtaining an electronic visa, to which the call center operators promptly answered.
It should be noted that on the basis of a regular analysis of the current mechanism for issuing e-visas and appeals received on this issue, the decisions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan improved the procedure for issuing electronic entry visas.
In particular, from 28 May 2019, electronic entry visas are issued for a period of stay in the Republic Uzbekistan and will be valid for 90 days from the date of issue and 30 days from the date of entry.
From 15 March 2019, the system of issuing double (as of 15 July 2019, the number of issued double electronic visas - 1,317) and multiple (1 182) types of electronic entry visas was introduced.
Foreign citizens are allowed to enter the country if no more than three technical typographical errors in the electronic visa are detected.
Employees of the Border Guards of the State Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan can independently verify the presence of a valid electronic visa issued in the name of a foreign citizen without requesting a valid electronic visa in printed form.
Currently, in order to further improve the procedure for the entry of foreign citizens into the republic, work is underway to streamline the procedure for obtaining electronic entry visas by processing each issue that arises during their registration.
