Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan is visiting Morocco as part of the training program “Studying Moroccan experience in implementing a monitoring, reporting and inspection (MRV) system.”

The visit was organized by the French Development Agency (AFD) and Expertise France. Representatives of Uzbekistan in Rabat held a meeting with employees of the Ministry of Development of Morocco.

Morocco has 20 years of experience with the MRV system, which is important for Uzbekistan’s climate change strategy. In addition, Morocco has significant experience in analyzing greenhouse gas data and developing an electronic platform for it.

Specialists from the Ministry of Energy and Sustainable Development of Morocco shared their experience in the field of climate change, achieving nationally determined contributions and decarbonization in various sectors of the economy until 2050.

During the meeting, the experience of Morocco’s “Territorial Plans for Adaptation to Climate Change” was discussed and it was proposed to develop a regulatory document for organizing the operation of the MRV system in Uzbekistan.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed on further development of cooperation in the field of implementation of the MRV system in Uzbekistan and exchange of experience.
