Uzbekistan, Iran to boost trade relations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Head of Iran Trade Promotion Organization Hamid Safdel offered to create joint Iranian-Uzbek Commerce Chamber to boost trade-economic between two states, Iran News reported.

The report said that Hamid Safdel proposed this at the meeting with the first deputy minister of foreign economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan Akmal Kamalov.

Safdel said that it is necessary to review and increase list of preferential goods, which are traded between two states. Iranian provinces – Kazwin, Mazanderan and Northern Khorasan – are ready to direct trade delegations to Uzbekistan, he added.

He attracted attention to the fact that joint Iranian-Uzbek commission on trade-economic cooperation was held three years ago and said that Iran is ready to hold the session of commission as soon as possible.

Iran and Uzbekistan has great opportunities on transit transportation and Iran hopes that use of North-South transit route with participation of Iran, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Oman and Qatar will allow to realize existing potential, Safdel said.

In its turn, Akmal Kamalov said that Uzbekistan provides significant preferences to foreign businesses, including Iranian, within its economic policy.

He said that Uzbekistan hopes that signing of memorandums and agreements with private and state Iranian companies on trade-economic cooperation between two states will receive further boost.
