Uzbekistan introduces ban for placement of prescribed medicaments’ ads at public items
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan introduced ban for placement of advertisement of prescribed medical products at public items.

State Committee of Uzbekistan on demonopolization and development of competition introduced changes and amendments to the resolution “On approval of regulation on placement of advertisement”, which envisage this measure.

In line with the document, Uzbekistan banks placement of advertisements of medical products in clocks, calendars, umbrellas, lighters, trinkets, ash-trays, stationery products, souvenirs, dishes and others.

The document also forbids advertisement of tobacco and tobacco products, as well as alcohol drinks of any strength. The document bans use of image, title and other information at front of buildings, entrance and exits, storefronts, other products and places of trade objects.

The resolution also include ban for advertisement video lines at TV programmes, except advertisement itself, as well as advertisement programmes.

In line with the document, it is banned to use foreign works or expressions, which can distort information. The document forbids information that product was approved by state body or their officials.

According to the document, it is banned to advertise products as advertisement of other products, trademarks or brands, which are close to trademarks or brands, advertisement of which are banned in line with the legislation.
