Uzbekistan introduces a system of "family travel vacation"

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan is introducing a “family travel vacation” system lasting at least five working days, which envisages travel with parents, relatives, elderly people and mentors.

This is stipulated by the decree of the President of Uzbekistan "On measures for the further development of domestic and pilgrim tourism in the Republic of Uzbekistan."

The document notes that Uzbekistan establishes an order in accordance with which the period of celebration of the national holiday Navruz, Independence Day and New Year, as well as the religious holidays "Ramazon Hayit" (Eid-al-Fitr) and "Kurban Hayit" (Eid-al -Adha) is established at least three non-working days due to additional and transferred non-working days.

It is also introducing a family travel leave system of at least five working days, which includes travel with parents, relatives, elderly people and mentors. At the same time, "family travel leave" is provided at the expense of the main annual vacation with the consent of the employer and in accordance with collective agreements.

From 1 March 2021, for citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan and stateless persons permanently residing in the Republic of Uzbekistan, a tourist (hotel) tax is introduced for each day of their stay in accommodation facilities in the amount established by the Cabinet of Ministers. At the same time, the funds received from the payment of the tourist (hotel) tax are used to finance activities to promote and stimulate domestic tourism, to ensure the utilization of accommodation facilities during the low tourist season.

Flights of foreign airlines to the Republic of Uzbekistan, stipulating the organization of travel of foreign tourists from Indonesia, Bangladesh and Malaysia to the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as under the "Umrah+" program, are carried out without hindrance, with the exception of takeoff and landing safety rules.
