Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the next plenary meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the draft law “On amendments and additions to Article 47 of the Urban Planning Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan” was considered in the first reading.

The bill amends Article 47 of the Town Planning Code. In particular, it is proposed to prohibit the design and construction of buildings and structures in areas at risk of mudflows and landslides in order to save human lives and prevent possible material damage.

With the adoption of this bill, relations will be streamlined to protect people’s lives and their property, ensure the stable operation of economic and social facilities in areas at risk of mudflows and landslides.

During the discussions, the deputies, based on the importance and necessity of the document, made a number of proposals for its further improvement.
