Uzbekistan intends to increase the capacity of the international data transmission channel by 3.5 times

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Uzbekistan plans to increase the capacity of the international data transmission channel by 3.5 times until 2024.

The government of Uzbekistan has issued a resolution on measures to develop telecommunications infrastructure in Uzbekistan.

The document says that international data transmission capacity will increase from the current 1,200 Gbps to 4,500 Gbps by 2025.

In 2022-2024, it is planned to lay 150 thousand km of fiber-optic communication lines.

The resolution notes that the level of high-speed Internet coverage of settlements will increase from the current 67% to 100% by 2025. It is also planned to bring the level of mobile broadband coverage from the current 90% to 100% by 2025.
