Uzbekistan increases minimum prices for alcohol products
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan is increasing minimum prices of wholesale and retail prices to alcohol products, excluding beer, from 1 January 2012.

New prices for alcohol products are set in line with the resolution of Ministry of Finance and the State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan from 12 December 2011.

In line with the resolution, the minimum wholesale prices for wine for producers grew from 2,000 soums to 2,200 soums per liter and retail prices from 2,500 soums and 2,700 soums per liter.

From 1 January, the minimum wholesale prices for cognac, vodka and other alcohol products will increase from 4,300 soums to 5,000 soums and retail prices from 5,400 soums and 6,100 soums per liter.

The alcohol producers will be fined for violation of this norm. The size of fine was set at the volume of 20% of the cost of realized products, but it should not be lower than 200-minimum size of salary.

In case of repeat of violation within a year, the fine will increase to 50% of the cost of realized product, but not lower than 300-minimum size of salary.
