Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Amendments to Uzbekistan’s legislation aimed at enhancing social support for blood donors will come into effect on 28 February 2025.
The corresponding law (No. ZRU-1041) has been signed, introducing a significant increase in one-time financial payments for individuals awarded the honorary badge "Honored Blood Donor of the Republic of Uzbekistan".
Under the new provisions, the one-time reward for honorary donors will rise from five to fifteen sizes of the basic estimated value (BEV), amounting to 5,625,000 soums.
Additionally, honorary donors will continue to benefit from existing privileges, including:
Free access to urban public transport (excluding route taxis and private minibuses);
The right to take annual paid leave at a time of their choosing;
Priority access to vouchers for sanatorium and health resort treatment.
These measures are designed to encourage blood donation and enhance social protection for citizens who make a significant contribution to the country’s donor movement.
The law will take effect upon its official publication.
