Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan increased electricity imports from Tajikistan to 417 million kilowatt hours in July 2018. This was stated in the report "Monitoring and early warning in Tajikistan" prepared by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan.

Earlier, Tajikistan exported 110-120 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per month.

Uzbekistan resumed exports of Tajik electricity in April 2018.

Uzbekenergo previously reported that Uzbekistan and Tajikistan agreed on the supply of electricity in the amount of up to 1.5 billion kWh during the vegetation period of 2018.

The company said that Uzbekistan and Tajikistan will additionally hold talks on the supply of electricity for the winter period 2018/2019.
