Uzbekistan imported US$27.8 million worth of natural gas in January
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In January 2025, Uzbekistan imported natural gas worth US$27.8 million, which is 5.4 times higher than in the same month of 2024, according to the Statistics Agency.
Additionally, the country’s oil and petroleum product imports reached US$144.1 million in the first month of the year, marking a 44.3% increase compared to January of the previous year.
At the same time, natural gas exports totaled US$21.8 million, reflecting a 9% increase from January 2024. The export of oil and petroleum products also saw a rise of 48.2%, reaching US$30.2 million.
In January 2025, Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to US$4.5 billion, an increase of US$297.2 million (7.1%) compared to the same period last year, the Statistics Agency reported.
Exports totaled US$1.31 billion, showing a 14.1% increase from January 2024, while imports rose by 4.4% to US$3.2 billion. As a result, the foreign trade balance remained negative at -US$1.89 billion.
