Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have approved a program of technical cooperation, within which five national projects will be implemented in Uzbekistan.

These projects aim to strengthen the capacity in the nuclear industry, improve the regulatory framework in nuclear energy, and enhance the safety and efficiency of the use of the research nuclear reactor. 

Additionally, the establishment of a laboratory for stable isotopes to monitor water resources is planned, along with a project to expand radiation medicine to combat cancer, including the introduction of radiation therapy and diagnostic radiology.

The development of national recommendations in the field of cancer diagnosis and treatment is also envisaged.

These initiatives underscore Uzbekistan's commitment to the development of nuclear technologies and medicine.
