Uzbekistan, Hungary consider current issues of bilateral cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 23 January 2024, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Muzaffar Madrakhimov held a virtual meeting with the Deputy State Secretary for the Development of Eastern Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Adam Stifter.

During the conversation, the sides discussed current issues on the Uzbekistan-Hungary agenda, schedule of upcoming political contacts, strengthening inter-parliamentary dialogue, interaction within international organizations and other multilateral structures.

Particular attention was paid to the development of trade and investment cooperation. In this context, they expressed mutual interest in organizing major business events and supporting the implementation of joint projects in the fields of pharmaceuticals, medicine, agriculture, and automotive industry.

The parties exchanged views on deepening interregional cooperation, in particular between Jizzakh and Gyor-Moson-Sopron, as well as Samarkand and Hajdu-Bihar.

The agenda of the negotiations also included issues of further expanding cultural and humanitarian ties, especially in the field of science and education.
