Uzbekistan, Huawei sign a contract for the supply of inverters for the implementation of projects for the development of solar energy in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a ceremony of signing a contract for the supply of Huawei inverters for the implementation of projects to introduce renewable energy sources in the country.

The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a ceremony of signing an agreement between Yashil Energiya LLC and Huawei for the supply of inverters for the implementation of projects for the introduction and development of renewable energy sources in the country. Deputy Energy Minister Akmal Jumanazarov and Vice President for the Middle East and Central Asia of Huawei, Mr. Wang Shunli, attended the ceremony and discussed plans to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

“Huawei has strengthened its cooperation with ecosystem partners and regulators in the energy sector since the beginning of this year. Representatives of the delegation of the Ministry of Energy were given an introductory tour of the company’s showroom at the headquarters in China, as well as the production facilities of the plant for the production of "solar" technologies. As part of the Uzbek-Chinese business forum in Xi’an, a memorandum was signed with the Ministry defining further actions to expand the implementation of these Huawei solutions in Uzbekistan. Today’s signing of the agreement was one of the next steps in accelerating the country’s transition to carbon neutrality,” said Mr. Chen Jiakai, Director of Huawei in Uzbekistan.

The solutions of the Huawei Digital Power division have been used for several years in projects to introduce photovoltaic technologies for large power plants for industrial purposes, the commercial and industrial sector, as well as domestic solar power plants in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Huawei inverters were also presented at the Uzbek-Chinese Achievements Exhibition in Xi’an on 19 May 2023. on the booth of the Ministry of Energy as an example of successful cooperation between the parties.

A delegation from the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan visited the Huawei headquarters in January 2023, where they got acquainted with the production capacity of the Huawei Digital Power plant. Since 2021, Huawei Digital Power has been focusing on areas such as cleaner power generation, electrification of transport, and building green ICT infrastructure. By the end of 2022, Huawei has helped its customers generate more than 695.1 billion kWh of green energy and reduce energy consumption by 19.5 billion kWh, equivalent to avoiding almost 340 million tons of CO2 emissions.
