Uzbekistan Havo Yollari to build center on servicing western aircrafts
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan Havo Yollari (Uzbekistan Airways), national airline of Uzbekistan, will crate center on servicing western-made aircrafts in 2011-2012 on the base of Tashkent Aircraft Production Plant. The cost of the project is US$39 million.

The government of Uzbekistan adopted decision to hand over some unused premises of the Tashkent Aircraft Production Plant, where new center will be built.

New center will carry out 24 forms of services to western-made airplanes on C-Check scheme. The center will be managed by Uzbekistan Airways Technics, division of Uzbekistan Havo Yollari on repairing aircrafts.

The project will be financed due to the loans of the Uzbek banks for US$18 million and foreign loans for US$18.2 million, as well as own resources of the airline for US$2.8 million.

The Uzbek airline is planning to complete preliminary feasibility study and start negotiations with equipment suppliers in the first quarter of 2010.

Capacities of Uzbekistan Airways Technics were almost loaded fully and the decision was adopted to expand the center, taking into account orders from the CIS airlines and purchase of new airlines by the Uzbek airline.

Uzbekistan Airways Technics is largest aircraft repairing plant in Central Asia, which was commissioned in 1994. The Center on servicing western-made airlines was launched in 1997, which is the only such center in the region.

Uzbekistan Havo Yollari directed about US$20 million to develop the center. Germany’s Lufthansa Technic and Hydro-Geraetebau GmbH supplied equipment to the center.

Aircrafts of airlines of Azerbaijan, Italy, Island, Mongolia, Russia and Turkmenistan undertook technical maintenance.
