Sports 20/05/2008 Uzbekistan get a ’C’
Uzbekistan, whose clubs play in the AFC Champions League, received seven ’Cs’, five ’Bs’ alongside 51 ’As’ by the committee.

The ’Cs’, according to the committee’s estimates, mean they are not assured of meeting the criteria by October 1, 2008, while the ’Bs’ can be met by 1 October, 2008.:

The ’Bs’ are:

1. Number of international referees in the association should be a minimum of six

2. The number of attendance per match should be measured and announced in accurately counted figures

3. Number of players under professional contract in the top team of each club should be a minimum of 16

4. All the clubs should be commercial entities under its national law

5. All clubs’ head coaches should possess AFC Professional License Diploma Or equivalent license approved by AFC

The areas in which they have received a ’C’ are:

1. The league governing body should be a legal entity governed by its football association

2. The league governing body should have a management structure which controls competition, marketing, media and finance

3. Club representatives, ii) representatives of football association and iii) representatives from the league’s top management should be members of the highest decision making body (executive committee) of the league

4. The position of the CEO should be full-time

5. The league should have an audited Profit and Loss Statement and Balance Sheet

6. The league should have an auditor

7. The league should have a centralised marketing system of the elements such as media rights, certain sponsorships and merchandise
