It said malicious attacks on Islam were nothing but an effort to provoke inter-religious conflict. "Such irresponsible attacks undermine principles of peaceful co-existence; run counter to the universally adopted norms of international laws, morals and ethics, and cannot be justified by any motives and persuasions," it said.

"Uzbekistan is convinced that political will and reason will be manifested in the European states not to allow attempts to inflame religious intolerance and enmity," it said.
