It was said at the seminar that the yield of vegetables from each hectare in average makes up 30.9 tonnes, melons – 24.2 hectares and potatoes – 24.1 tonnes.
It was said that researches, directed at developing industry, creating high yield sorts of plants and supplying high quality seeds to farmers, give their results. It was noted that 58 sorts of high quality, high yield and sustainable vegetables, 20 melon sorts, 11 potato sorts were created in Uzbekistan, UzA reported.
During the seminar, the participants discussed creation of plants, which are settled to salinity and drought, as well as hybrid sorts.
