Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From January to August 2024, Uzbekistan exported gold valued at US$4.99 billion, according to data from the State Statistics Agency.
The volume of gold exports during this period decreased by 11.5% compared to the same period in 2023.
The share of gold in the total export volume of the country was 28.8%, down from 34.3% last year.
Furthermore, Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover (FTT) reached US$42.7 billion from January to August 2024, which is US$2.7 billion (or 6.6%) more than in the same period in 2023.
Of the total FTT, exports accounted for US$17.34 billion (an increase of 5.5% compared to January-August 2023), while imports amounted to US$25.36 billion (up 7.4%). As a result, the balance of foreign trade showed a negative balance of US$8.01 billion.
