Uzbekistan explores cooperation with Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, held talks with Lili Burns, Vice President for Global Partnerships at the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI). The meeting focused on potential collaboration between Uzbekistan and the university in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).
The discussions took place within the framework of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). During his visit, the Uzbek leader met with UAE Minister of Artificial Intelligence Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, where he proposed strengthening cooperation with MBZUAI, launching specialized educational programs for students, and developing a roadmap for training highly qualified AI specialists.
During Shermatov’s negotiations with MBZUAI representatives, special attention was given to creating additional opportunities for Uzbek students and professionals. The parties explored prospects for joint IT projects and AI initiatives, participation of Uzbek specialists in professional development programs, and the expansion of academic and scientific exchanges.
Additionally, they reviewed specific proposals for accelerated AI workforce training, the launch of new educational programs, and the development of joint initiatives. Strengthening ties with MBZUAI is expected to accelerate Uzbekistan’s digital transformation while providing greater access to advanced AI knowledge and expertise.
