Uzbekistan expands trade with Asia in nine months of 2010
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- About 97.7% of foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan in nine months of 2010 fell to share of Europe and Asia, according to the data of the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

Share of these continents in foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan grew from 97.2% in January-September 2009 to 97.7% in the same period of 2010.

Share of Europe in foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan decreased from 60.7% in January-September 2009 to 57.4% in the same period of 2010. At the same time, the share of Asia rose from 36.5% to 40.3%.

In the structure of foreign trade turnover, share of American continent slipped from 2.5% in January-September 2009 to 1.9% in nine months of 2010 and African continent rose from 0.2% to 0.3%. Share of Australia and Oceania in Uzbekistan’s trade turnover stayed at the level of 0.1%.

Foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan made up US$15.507 billion in January-September 2010 (+0.2% year-on-year). At the same time, Uzbekistan’s exports made up US$9.566 billion and imports – US$5.941 billion.
