Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A Uzbek-Omani business forum was held at the Nordic International University in Tashkent, initiated by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Oman, Dunyo news agency reported.
The event featured prominent figures, including Khalil al-Khondji, chairman of the board of directors of Al Khonji Group and former president of the Omani Chamber of Commerce, as well as Amur al-Sulaimani, executive director of Arabian Industries and hotel owner in several regions of Oman.
Omani entrepreneurs expressed their interest in establishing cooperation with medical institutions and companies manufacturing medical equipment in Uzbekistan. They also proposed starting collaborations in the hospitality sector with Uzbek partners.
During the forum, Murtadha Hassan Ali, chairman of the board of directors of General Electric & Trading, shared insights about doing business in Oman. He expressed readiness to collaborate with companies producing electrical equipment in Uzbekistan.
The forum acknowledged the wide opportunities for expanding investment cooperation in the oil and gas, chemical, energy, and electrical sectors, as well as in trade, food production, building materials, tourism, and other areas.
A collaboration was established between the Nordic International University and Omani companies for training, capacity building, and experience sharing.
As part of the business forum, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the rector of the Nordic International University, Sherzod Mustafakulov, and Khalil al-Khondji, director of Muscat University.
Members of the Omani delegation also left commemorative entries in the university’s Book of Honor.
