The fourth session of sub-commission on justice, internal affairs, human rights and corresponding issues of Uzbekistan-European Union was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on 8-9 May.
Uzbek Justice Ministry said in its release that the session discussed issues on fight against terrorism, drug trafficking and organized crime, border management, development of customs and judicial systems, as well as current affairs and perspectives of bilateral cooperation in mentioned spheres.
In line with agreements, the sub-commission started regular dialogue on human rights between Uzbekistan and European Union, which will cover wide issues on situation in democratization, human rights and freedoms, strengthening civic society in Uzbekistan and EU member states, as well as perspectives of cooperation in these directions. The dialogue is based on principles of equality, mutual respect and non-interference to internal affairs.
The release said after the session, which was held in constructive condition and mutual respect, the sides noted satisfaction with the dialogue.
