Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Law “On Road Traffic” established requirements for paid parking spaces.

According to the law signed by the president, owners of paid parking spaces independently set the amount of fees for using these spaces at rates not exceeding the maximum values established by the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan, regional khokimiyats and the city of Tashkent in agreement with the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

In this case, payment is made in cash or non-cash using payment systems, including automated payment systems.

Owners of paid parking spaces have the right to determine the list of users and vehicles that will be provided with free or discounted use of these spaces.

In addition, parking lot owners must fulfill the following requirements:

Introduction of an automated payment system for the use of paid parking spaces;

Ensure that in areas where paid parking spaces are installed, road signs are installed, and video surveillance systems or other technical security measures are installed and operating;

are required to ensure that spaces are reserved for vehicles driven or transported by persons with disabilities among parking spaces adjacent to the entrance or exit of a parking space.
