Uzbekistan establishes cooperation with a large industrial park in the south of China

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the initiative of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Guangzhou, prospects for cooperation with the large technopark Guangzhou International Business incubator (GIBI) were discussed, Dunyo news agency reported.

The technopark located in Guangdong province specializes in biomedicine, IT technologies. The issues of expanding cooperation with Uzbek enterprises in trade, economic and investment areas and the implementation of new investment projects were discussed during a meeting of Uzbek diplomats with the Deputy Head of the Technopark Hu Chun and the Chairman of Youdi BioTechnology Li Lei Chin.

GIBI is a state-level science and technology business incubator established by the Guangzhou city government in December 2000. GIBI is one of 9 international business incubators in China recognized by the PRC Ministry of Science and Technology.

It is appropriate to note that more than 230 start-up projects are being implemented in the GIBI structure, the total number of employees and workers is more than 3 thousand people. Last year, the total production value of the Technopark’s enterprises was 3.6 billion yuan (US$510 million). More than 100 million yuan in taxes paid.

The Chinese side was informed about the ongoing reforms in our country and the opportunities created for investors.

In particular, it was noted that the new Constitution adopted on April 30 this year also guarantees the improvement of the business environment and support for entrepreneurship, protection of the rights of investors.

The Chinese side was offered to set up production in Uzbekistan, and through it to gain access to the 300 millionth CIS market.

As a result of the negotiations, agreements were reached on organizing a business forum in September this year with the participation of Uzbek companies and members of the technopark, holding B2B meetings to implement joint projects, as well as allocating a pavilion for Uzbek products on the territory of the technopark.

The leadership of the Guangzhou International Business incubator and representatives of its Chinese companies are invited to Uzbekistan to get acquainted with the opportunities created in our country for foreign investors.
