Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to a report by Mastercard and CrescentRating, Uzbekistan has become one of the most attractive countries for Muslim tourists. According to experts, security and religious worship, including tolerance for Islamic clothing, are the two most important factors for Muslim tourists.

According to a report published at the Halal in Travel Asia summit held in Singapore on 17 October 2019, Uzbekistan entered the top ten member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in terms of security and religious tolerance. Qatar, Oman, Brunei, Turkey, UAE, Kuwait and the Maldives are leaders in this list.

Uzbekistan is in eighth place on this list. Followed by Indonesia and Malaysia. The Muslim Women in Travel 2019 report is the world's first travel study of Muslim women in which more than 3,300 women, mainly from Southeast Asia, participated. Acting Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the Development of Tourism Abdulaziz Akkulov noted that pilgrimage tourism is one of the most promising types of tourism in Uzbekistan.

The number of Muslim tourists visiting the country this year has grown markedly compared to the previous year. Traveling Muslim women is one of the fastest growing segments of the global tourism market. The report says that rising incomes and educational levels of women in Muslim countries encourage them to travel.
