Uzbekistan Economy Day held in Berlin
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan Economy Day was held in Berlin, capital of Germany. The event was organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany at assistance of Federal Economy and Technology Ministry of Germany, Eastern Committee of German Economy and COMMIT GmbH, Jahon news agency reported.

Representatives of economic ministries, departments, associations, financial establishments, companies and mass media of Germany participated at the event. The Uzbek delegation consists of representatives of Ministries of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade, Uzinfoinvest, Uzfarmsanoat, Uzavtosanoat, Uzqurilishmaterially, Uzkimyosanoat and Uzeltehsanoat.

The report said the Uzbek delegation presented economic development of Uzbekistan, investment climate, existing business projects in various sectors, including in Navoi free industrial-economic zone.

The Uzbek delegation also presented pharmaceutical, automobile, chemical and electrotechnical industry, as well as construction materials. The presentation of priority projects and directions of cooperation with the German partners were also determined.

The report said the German side noted political and macroeconomic stability, rich raw material base, beneficial geographic location, transport-logistic system, integrated communication system, integrated industrial base.

Frank Waizig, representative of Federal Economy and Technology Ministry of Germany, said the similar events are important for establishing mutual beneficial business contacts. He said the European Unions, including Germany, pay great attention to relations with Uzbekistan.

He said German government is interested in development of cooperation with Uzbekistan and therefore, it will further support Germany companies, which are intending to develop business in Uzbekistan through such tools as credit guaranties and others.

Head of German Economy Representative Office in Central Asia Yorg Hetch said over 140 German companies are working in Uzbekistan, of which 80 has their offices in the country. He said Uzbekistan currently offers wide opportunities for mutual beneficial cooperation and there is possible to do good business in the country.
