Uzbekistan discusses satellite launch with SpaceX as part of new partnership
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan is exploring the possibility of launching a satellite in cooperation with SpaceX, the private American aerospace company founded by Elon Musk, according to the Uzbek Space Research Agency "Uzbekcosmos."
Talks regarding the potential partnership took place during a visit by an Uzbek delegation to Los Angeles. The planned satellite is expected to be assembled by Uzbek students currently studying at Kyushu Institute of Technology in Japan.
SpaceX has expressed its willingness to support Tashkent in refining its national space strategy, which is set to run until 2035.
In addition, Uzbekistan participated in the international Space Symposium, where the country’s representatives discussed prospects for collaboration in satellite technology with colleagues from various nations.
During the forum, an agreement was also reached with the French company Novaspace, which will provide Uzbekistan with expert assistance in the development and implementation of its space strategy through 2035.
