Uzbekistan did not close borders with Kazakhstan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan did not close borders with Uzbekistan unilaterally, but introduced temporary border quarantine restrictions, Jahon news agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday, 25 November 2009.

The agency said the Russian TV channel RBK reported on 23 November that Uzbekistan closed borders with Kazakhstan unilaterally, without any explanations.

The Uzbek agency notes that this is unfounded report and it is directed to creation of atmosphere of tense between neighbouring states of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, as well as formation of foundation for various insinuations.

Uzbekistan introduced temporary border quarantine restrictions on 13 November and it is connected with seasonal influenza. The agency said Uzbekistan informed the Kazakh side on this matter on time.

The statement said the provocation move of the Russian channel surprises and the agency condemns it.
