Uzbekistan destroys more than 2.15 tons of narcotics

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 26 June, Uzbekistan’s law enforcement agencies destroyed over 2.15 tons of narcotics seized from illegal circulation. This was stated by the press service of the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan.

The operation was conducted in honor of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

In the industrial zone of Yangihayat district of Tashkent, various narcotic substances were incinerated in a special furnace. 37.6 kg of heroin and 184.7 kg of opium were destroyed.

Also incinerated were 413.8 kg of hashish, 28.58 g of poppy heads, and 95.9 kg of poppy straw. Additionally, 11.3 kg of poppy, 424.7 kg of marijuana, and 961.4 kg of cannabis were destroyed.

About 18.73 g of cannabis oil, 347.85 g of tetrahydrocannabinol, and 6.48 g of cocaine were also incinerated. Various psychotropic and psychoactive substances, as well as synthetic drugs, were also destroyed.

In 2023, customs authorities seized 9.2 tons of narcotics, 17,700 units of psychotropic drugs, 827.3 g of precursors, as well as 197,600 units of medications and 109.2 kg of potent substances with restricted circulation.
