Uzbekistan delegation visits Sweden: Focus on reforms, cooperation, and innovation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Nodir Jumayev, Chairman of the Committee on Industry, Construction, and Trade of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, visited Sweden on 14-15 October. The purpose of the visit was to introduce Swedish partners to the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan and to strengthen bilateral cooperation, as reported by the Dunyo News Agency.

During meetings in Stockholm, representatives from the Swedish parliament, government, and analytical circles were briefed on Uzbekistan’s reforms aimed at ensuring economic growth, social stability, and strengthening democratic institutions.

Swedish partners expressed interest in Uzbekistan’s achievements in promoting dialogue between the state and society, ensuring gender equality, encouraging political participation among women, and implementing innovative changes in the electoral system.

The meetings also highlighted the significant strengthening of regional cooperation and sustainable development in Central Asia in recent years, noting Uzbekistan’s constructive role in these processes.

Additionally, discussions covered the current state of Uzbek-Swedish relations, the agenda for bilateral cooperation, and ways to facilitate direct communication between business communities and entrepreneurs.

There was an exchange of views on effectively utilizing human potential, high technologies, and developing joint projects and programs in promising areas.

The visit of the Uzbek delegation to Sweden underscored the country’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation and advancing reforms aimed at development and prosperity.
