Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Citizens of Uzbekistan will soon be able to visit China without a visa for up to 30 days.
The corresponding agreement was signed on 1 December by Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, and his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi.
"As part of the agreements reached between the leaders of Uzbekistan and China, we have signed an agreement today that allows our citizens to travel without a visa for up to 30 days," Bakhtiyor Saidov stated.
He emphasized that this is a significant step toward fostering exchanges, boosting trade, and strengthening ties between the peoples of the two nations.
The exact date for the implementation of the visa-free regime has not yet been determined and will be announced later.
Preliminary agreements to ease visa requirements were reached during Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s state visit to China in the spring of 2023.
It is worth noting that Chinese citizens are currently permitted to visit Uzbekistan visa-free for up to 10 days.
