Pushkin medal is the state award of Russia, which is conferred to foreign citizens for their contribution in culture, enlightenment, humanitarian science, literature and art in line with the decision of the Russian President.

The Russian embassy said awarding of the Uzbekistan citizen is valuation of his contribution to strengthening of relations, cooperation and understanding between people of Uzbekistan and Russia.
