Uzbekistan, China trade turnover to hit US$5bn by 2015
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and China are planning to increase the volume of bilateral trade turnover to US$5 billion by 2015, Wu Bango, Chairman of the Standing Committee of People’s Congress of China, said in his address to members of Legislative Chamber and Senate of Uzbekistan on 22 September.

In his speech titled “Good neighborhood and friendship for joint development”, Wu Bango said that the trade turnover between two states made up US$2.48 billion and the volume of Chinese investments to economy of Uzbekistan reached US$1.65 billion.

He underlined that partnership of Uzbekistan and China is developing dynamically based on friendly, mutual interest, trust and respect. He added that the sides have similar views on issues of developing bilateral cooperation, regional and international problems.

Wu Bango said that international authority of Uzbekistan, which is one of key states in Eurasia, is growing regularly. He said that ongoing reforms, carried out under leadership of the President Islam Karimov, directed at strengthening political stability, state construction, development of economy and further increasing population living standards are giving their fruits.

China’s top legislator said the relations between two states are strengthening in all sectors after the sides established diplomatic relations, such as energy, trade, economy, investment, transport, telecommunication, parliamentarism, culture.

The exchange of delegations in various levels, surely, will help for further developing cooperation in various relations, he stated.
