Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the People’s Republic of China was an important step in expanding cooperation between the two countries in the trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and social spheres. 

In particular, the Uzbek-Chinese Investment Forum in Shenzhen organized as part of the visit and the participation of the head of Uzbekistan in it will serve as the basis for a qualitatively new dialogue between business structures of the two countries.

The Uzcharmsanoat Association and industry entrepreneurs also took part in this forum and held fruitful negotiations. During the forum, a solid package of investment and export agreements was signed between enterprises and associations of the two states. In particular, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Uzcharmsanoat association and the Dongguan Shoe Association on the implementation of ten investment projects in 2024 aimed at the production of raw materials, finished leather and footwear products in Uzbekistan on the basis of Chinese capital.

Also, an export contract for US$20 million was concluded between the foreign company Peng Sheng, located in Syrdarya region, and the Chinese company Yangling Guohe Cross-Border E-Commerce for the supply of products from Uzbekistan to the PRC.

It should be noted that today Chinese companies have intensified their investment activities in Uzbekistan. Also, the Association’s delegation reached beneficial agreements to attract Chinese brands to Uzbekistan.

Investment and interregional forums held in China served as an effective business platform for further expanding business interaction and bringing trade and economic relations between Uzbekistan and China to a higher level.
