Uzbekistan – China: Modern Infrastructure for Higher Technical Education Being Developed
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 10 July 2025, the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Guangzhou, China, hosted the signing of an official agreement to establish the “Linnan Advanced Vocational Workshop” at the Tashkent State Transport University.
This initiative has received full support from the government of Guangdong Province as part of the Belt and Road strategy.
The new center will focus on automotive engineering, technical maintenance, and hydrogen technologies. As part of the project, a technical laboratory will be set up in collaboration with leading companies such as Toyota, BYD, and Chery.
The laboratory will provide opportunities for professional internships and practical training for both university students and vocational college students.
An initial investment of US$800,000 has been allocated for the first stage of the project — a practical step toward aligning Uzbekistan’s higher technical education system with international standards.
