Uzbekistan, China mark 20th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of the People’s Republic of China Hu Jintao congratulated President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov with the twentieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the PRC and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

“On behalf of Government of the People’s Republic of China, people of China and personally, I have the honor to express cordial congratulations and kind wishes to Your Excellency, Government and the people of Uzbekistan on the twentieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the PRC and the Republic of Uzbekistan,” the Chinese leader said.

“China and Uzbekistan are friendly close neighbors. The Chinese-Uzbek cooperation has been advancing steadily and swiftly during the last twenty years since the two countries set up diplomatic ties. Highest-level contacts between our two nations have become frequent, while political mutual confidence has been bolstering. Trade and economic, energy, transport, academic and technological cooperation is persistently expanding with noteworthy outcomes. Both sides provide one another a firm support in issues pertaining to key interests of the other side, maintain effective assistance within the United Nations, Shanghai Cooperation Organization and other multilateral organizations to further the interests the two countries share,” Hu Jintao said.

“The Agreement on Partnership Relations of Friendship and Cooperation signed by me and Your Excellency in May 2005 laid a robust legislative basis for the enlargement of bilateral relations. Your Excellency’s successful state visit to China in April 2011 helped uplift the bilateral cooperation to a qualitatively new and important stage of development. The Chinese side is pleased with the accomplishments made in bilateral relations and feels filled with confidence in the prospects of fostering the interaction between our two countries.”

“The PRC Government invariably places a special emphasis on the advancement of relations with Uzbekistan, and we will continue to support the development path chosen by Uzbekistan that meets its realities. We will stay committed also to Uzbekistan’s efforts to ensure the independence, sovereignty and security of the nation, to encourage economic progress and build up external ties. I am willing to maintain determined efforts, jointly with Your Excellency, towards enhancing the political confidence and mutually advantageous cooperation between the two nations, towards elevating the level of partnership bonds of friendship and cooperation for the benefit of our two countries and peoples,” the Chinese leader added.

Hu Jintao said: “I wish consistent reinforcement and boom to the friendship of China and Uzbekistan! I wish Your Excellency a vigorous health and welfare!”

In his letter, President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov expressed gratitude to the Chinese leader for the heartfelt congratulations and kind wishes.

The Uzbek leader said: “|In its aspiration for development and prosperity, Uzbekistan has from the very moment of attaining independence relied on the robust support from China, our close neighbor and trustworthy partner. We highly acknowledge the special significance attached by China’s leadership to a consistent and dynamic enhancement of longer-term relations with Uzbekistan on principles of equality, mutual respect and confidence.”

“An open and prolific political dialogue has been built between our two nations for the historically brief period across a whole range of bilateral and multilateral cooperation; a steadfast trend has been secured in the growth of volumes and diversification of trade stock-lists; growth in investments has been evident, primarily to high-tech industrial sectors defined by us as priority areas. Remarkable has been the expansion of cultural and humanitarian exchange, academic and technical interaction,” the Uzbek President underlined.

“The Agreement on Partnership Relations of Friendship and Cooperation signed by us in 2005 has helped craft a solid normative backbone for a persistent and systematic building up of mutually rewarding Uzbek-Chinese ties amid new realities”.

“One of critical outcomes of Uzbek delegation’s state visit to China in April 2011 – a symbolic event in the history of our relations – has been the establishment of a committee on cooperation to have secured an institutional foundation for the eventful interstate dialogue and comprehensive partnership on even higher a layer,” Islam Karimov stated.

“We stay steadily supportive of Your balanced and reasonable foreign policy, the one China policy, measures to combat terrorism, extremism and separatism. Uzbekistan is interested in furthering its constructive interaction with China within the framework of the United Nations, Shanghai Cooperation Organization and other prominent international organizations and financial institutions,” the Uzbek head noted.

“I feel convinced that given the concurrence of vital interests, we will continue to work together toward consolidating the bonds of traditional friendship and add new tangible content to them for the good of our two countries and peoples”.

“Taking this delightful opportunity, I would like to greet You, esteemed Mr. Hu Jintao, on the New Year, wish a sound health and every success in Your activities, along with progress and wellbeing to the friendly people of China,” the Uzbek President stated.
