Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held between the leadership of the Uzcharmsanoat association and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the PRC.

The main goal of the dialogue was to review the current state of trade and economic relations between the two countries in the leather and footwear and fur and fur industries, as well as to develop a Roadmap for the further development of cooperation in this direction in the future. The issues of increasing export performance and actively attracting Chinese investors to our country were also discussed.

At the beginning of the meeting, the leadership of the Uzcharmsanoat Association provided detailed information on the attention paid at the state level to the development of the leather and footwear industry in our country, the opportunities and preferences enjoyed by entrepreneurs, the potential of the industry and raw materials. Information is also given on the conditions created for foreign investors in our country, the benefits provided to exporting companies. The parties discussed a number of organizational and practical issues in terms of expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and China in the leather, footwear and fur industries.

In 2021, the volume of exports of leather and footwear products to the People’s Republic of China amounted to US$33.7 million. Also, to date, 9 investment projects worth US$35 million have been implemented jointly with industry enterprises and potential Chinese investors.
