Uzbekistan, China Discuss Tashkent Transport Modernization

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Representatives of the State Development Bank of China paid a working visit to Uzbekistan from 19 to 21 May 2026. As part of the trip, the delegation visited Bus Depot No. 2 of Toshshahartransxizmat JSC in Tashkent on 21 May.

During the visit, the guests were briefed on the company’s operations, ongoing reforms in the capital’s public transport system, the current state of bus routes, and prospects for further sector development.

Representatives of the National Bank of Uzbekistan, as well as Chinese bus manufacturers XIAMEN KING LONG and YUTONG BUS CO., LTD., also took part in the meeting.

Participants reviewed modern buses supplied from China, including their technical specifications, comfort standards, and operational features.

Following the visit, the sides noted that discussions on public transport development and the introduction of modern solutions remain an important area of bilateral cooperation and the further modernization of Tashkent’s transport system.
